Default Drag Rims

Quick question. I have an 03 GT with the cobra brake upgrade. I want to run some drag skinnies but am not sure that 15" rims will fit. Does anyone have this combo? Thanks.

15 inch rims won't work on the fronts with the 13 inch brake upgrade, and if you did it on the back I don't think it will work either.

The only way to make it work is wheel studs and spacers on the front, but its a major PITA to change the studs every time you go to the track, simply not worth it.

So what other option do I have. I have Weld prolites in back but they don't make then any larger than 15". I guess I could go with a Centerline rim but man they are expensive!

Why would you have to change the studs everytime at the track?1/2 inch spacers and 3 inch wheel studs with open end lugs may work..its gonna be a try and see unless someone has actaully done it and found it didnt work...

They do make spacers with extrastuds in them. They slip over the existing studs and have new ones on the spacer for the rims. I have 1 1/2" on my rears. You can just take them on and off when you change your rims back to stock. It would just be 5 extra nuts to take off.

I got mine on ebay. They also sell them in the MM&FF magazine but they are more expensive. I saved like 20 bucks getting them on ebay. Just search up mustangs and wheelspacers and it should pop up. They'll run you about $70.

They're called hubcentric, just for search purposes From what I've been told, many tracks won't allow any spacers that aren't hubcentric.

I'm not saying you're wrong or trying to start anything but I've been to the track more than once and have never had or seen anyone get checked or pulled for having wheel spacers. But I guess it would be something to look into just so you don't waste your money on something you can't use.

Fair enough, but I know I was told that the closest track to here (St. Louis area/Gateway International Raceway) won't allow anything except for hubcentric. I don't know about other tracks, but it would be something I'd check into before I spent the money.
