Default Fan Gone Bad!

Ok lately my car has been overheating alot and i've narrowed it down to the fact that my cars fan isnt working at all! Now i dunno what could have caused this but its not cool. Is there a fuse that controls this that could have blown? or is this a common problem with our fans goin bad?

Under your hood in the fuse box. If you are standing on the driverside looking at it it is the second row from the left (small fuses) and the closest one to the fender.

It could be the fan, or it could be the sensor that turns the fan on, or it could be the fan relay switch. I would check all 3 before you go buying any parts.

The fan is the easiet to diagnose. Just disconnect the harness and take two wires. Attach the + to the + on the fan and the- on the fan to ground. It should kick on. If it doesn't, that's the problem.

If it does go on,then it's either a relay or fuse. The actual fan switch doesn't usually go out unless you've messed with it recently.

Sorry I gave bad directions to the right fan fuse it is the top center one as you look at it from the drivers side. It should be a 50 or 60 amp fuse.
