Default Gas pedal sticking

i put a 75mm BBK t/b a few weeks ago now i am getting the stiff pedal when i shift or take off.....

Feels like the butterfly is sticking but i cleaned it and there isno carbon build up.

There was a thin coat of silver like past on the butterfly when i got it. As i was cleaning with carb cleanerbefore install half got wiped off. Is there a purpose to that? What can i do to fix. It sucks changing gears..... makes me feel like i cannot drive............ because i have to give it gas until it unsticks then the RPMS shoot up.

have you tried removing the throttle cable and seeing how freely the t/b moves, maybe its the throttle cable.

It is a very comon problem. It is called vacum lock. There are 2 fixes.
1 drill a very small hole in the throttle blade
2 adjust the screw on the top left of the TB.

Id go with 2

Yep,

the TB may be binding so try this....

1. turn off the engine.
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
3. turn the stop screw (located on the TB) back out so it is not touching the stop plate (get a feeler guage because the distance should be 1/10th of an inch between the screw and the plate. Once this is confirmed, turn the stop screw one full turn.
4. reconnect the negative battery cable.
5. Fire up the car.
6. wait 2 minutes and then press the gas pedal once so it's idling at 700 rpm.
7. Take it for a test drive.

THANKS YOU 2

are you talking about the tiny threaded screw that stops the throttle linkage from going back further?

yea they mean the set screw that is the stop for the throttle plate. i belive on the bbk t/bodies it has a long set screw which is adjusted with an allen wrench
