Synthetic oil can over saturate seals, which can shrink and leak if you switch back to natural. If you switch to synthetic and stay with synthetic you will never have a problem. But once you go there, you generally should not go back.

manufacturers are slicky.
they make the product so that you can upgrade but can't downgrade.

ive used synthetic for the past 15k miles, i have no idea what was in it before. ive had no problems with burning/leaking oil. from the condition of the car i bet it was whatever the cheapest shop put in.

i use amsoil in everything motor, trans, rear, never had any problems
