Default So tell me is this bad?

Alright, I polished my C&L plenum the other night (see post). I posted the outcome of my efforts on a couple of boards. On one of the boards a guy is telling me I shouldn't have polished it because now it will be more prone to "swirling" and I messed it up by polishing it.

So my question to you, did I screw it up? I think not and have a solid basic aero dynamic argument why i didn't screw it up but made it better. .

Every board I asked about porting and polishing it said do it. I just find it hard to beleive that it was all wrong. I stuck they guy with my argument and it seemed like he was back tracking a bit.

Roughing it up I can do no problem a little 60 grit will mess it up real bad if I need to. I just can't beleive this guy I have read numerous posts about porting and polishing TB and heads and manifolds.

Can any one help me out here.

If all you did was polish it and not like grind it you should be fine.

He could possible be confused. Because i know it is bad to polish the intake ports of the heads. Because it dosent allow the fuel to *thinks of the word, dosent rember, decideds to explain it* mix properly with the air. It tends to stick to the sides and run down them......

You didn't mess anything up. He's freakin' dumb.

Think about it homey, the air gets completely messed up flying into your intake manifold anyways....All you did was help smooth out the airflow into the intake. What a complete dumbass!!!!!! SMACK HIM

I know I didn't. I think like an earlier post that he is confused about the plenum and a itake manifold on a carb set-up. I am not worried. It came out good and shuld be good for another 1-2hp.

Now just need to wait for my week off to install all the mods I have sitting in the corner of my room. The pile keeps GROWING!

That's pretty awesome. When you start getting all the mods on her, you're gonna have to let me drive it!

Well let me give you a quick run down of the list:

C&L Plenum
75mm Accufab
Tunable Induction Full system (may have to rotate MAF, not sure yet, have to dyno)
MGW short throw and Royal Purple
Predator
IAC RPM mod
4.10 with FMS girdle and Royal Purple
Possible subframes (depends on money when I get the gears installed)
Grill Delete
Gauge Overlays
Auto Down mod for the Passenger side window

Probably going to change the plugs too and possibly paint the calipers. The off bronze silver color just doesn't look right.

And getting my GS-D3's too.

Quite abit of stuff to do, IMO. Considering I was good for a year and didn't buy (well install) one thing for the car except oil and filters.

Well maybe alittle ricer. Not sure if I am going to go silver or red[&:]. Just don't care for the color they are now. and they can be seen pretty well through the bullit rims. haven't decided yet and may not even bother this year.
