Default Head swap vs. S/C

Well ladies and gentlemen:

I have the opportunity to pick up a new Vortech V2-SQ 7-9 PSI kit for my car at a VERY reasonable price (let's say $3,000.01 for shizzles) The Vortech site claims a 75hp gain...

Now, couldn't I do heads and cams for less money ($1,500-$2,000) and get the same if not better gains?

Should I get the S/C now b/c of the price and do heads/cams later?

Thanks.

Edit: Sorry, forgot to mention I have a 1998GT and I was refering to the PI head swap w/ some Vt stage I's.

Sam

you'll have more fun with the blower (probably)... and it's alot less work to install.

but its tre cool to have a sweet n/a motor. i've been playing with the same idea, but thinking blower vs cam/bullit or fox intake or some sumthn' or such.

HEAD SWAP, hope not to offend anyone but i have seen several supercharged pre PI mustangs up on the board running around 13.8, hey with a headswap you can do this and spend less. Plus who wants to be the guy that someone asks your supercharged 8cyl only runs 13.8, your slow!! We joke on my friends car all the time, and he has a saleen rotatary, and his best time in the 1/8 is like a 9.69 which converts somewhere in the mid 14's, can you say embarrising.

How the hell do they only run 13.8's???? That's gotta be BS..I'd expect to be high 12's w/ heads, cams, headers, and then the rest of my bolt-ons... (and sticky tires, gears)

Look up some of the pre PI forums up here, and also check out the classified section there is supercharged 98GT for sale, his best time was 13.9, i know it sounds funny but i haven't heard of any Stock Supercharged pre PI running quicker than a 13.6 up here, trust me i have looked all over for forums with pre PI times, especially since my best time was a 13.9 and I have a 98 GT with an auto, shift kit, and 4.10 gears. I was looking at just supercharging it until i saw everyone's times, so now i am going to stroke it out and use Powerheads performance stage 2 Heads with cams. Then after all that i will supercharge it.
