You will not need race gas. You could even play with the timing a bit adn be fine with 91 or 93 octane. 11.5 isn't that nuts. Alot of stock cars are in the 11's with compression. Its over 12 and crazy timing that makes you need more octane. And even then, get a good addative and you can get a good 3-5 points of octane.

i never understood why people think 11.5 is so crazy. think about how many sportbikes run this or even higher than this from the factory. hell i think stock rsx has 11 to 1

12.5 is where you start needing addative. On our hydro, its 15:1 and we only need 110 (as apposed to 114). But its running crazy timing and a ton of other stuff. 9000 RPM Chevy Big Block 511ci. 950HP.

Yeah its not that crazy but pretty sweet by modular mustang standards. Shoot i think Fred (Lizzyfan) has 10.5:1 and his is blown. So you guys have any guess on what kinda numbers ill make on the butt dyno?

Actually Lizzy got him a shortblock from MMR, Im sure he is down to 9:1 now... not posotive on his compression... But on your guess #'s... considering you will have heads/cams/intake + built shortblock... I dont see why you wouldnt be pushing close to Code's old #'s... probably around 330ish (not sure of the difference in the P-51 and your intake, also not sure of the difference in your heads and codes heads) but it probably depends on the dyno... ZW99gt has factory heads/intake I think, and he is over 320rwhp, but he is stroked... are you getting a stroker kit?

Anyways, keep us updated on the project... sounds like your car will be up and running again in no time.

you can run a 11.5:1 compression and be fine. just gotta make sure the tune is spot on. cant wait to see the numbers!

You will have to have a very conservative tune at your altitude on pump gas.

Yeah tell me about it Altitude ftl. Stroker kits dont really do much on n/a motors. I am having it bored .20 over. I want to dyno it with a wild tune and mild tune just so i can see how many poneys i have. Anything over 300 rwhp and i'll be happy lol. Hmm i wonder if i can get to be the fastest Newedge n/a vert on here. . . .[8D]
