Default 96 Cobra vs. 97 cobra ecm? I need help

My friend has a 96 cobra motor with acessories and a ecm. I have a 97gt that I wanna put it into. Now, will the ecm work with my speedometer if I use my T-45 tranny? I only ask because didn't the 96's come with diff. odometers analog fed or something of that nature? The 96 was a 5spd and so is mine. I planned on keeping my wiring if you think it will work? I don't know if they are supose to plug into eachother? Thanks guys

You will want to use the Cobra ECM. Everything should plug right in with no problems. I had a T45 from a 98 Cobra in my car at one time and it pluged right into my car and everything worked

Thanks!!!! Yes they both have the T-45's. Ford changed to the 3650's in 99. I think the cobra T-45's were slightly diff. on the inside for little more durability?? Not 100% sure though. If the plugs fit properly then it must just be the diff. of the connectors on the back of the speedometer which I won't have to worry about!
