Default Help Guys...

Ok. After wanting an 03 Cobra, I finally scrapped that idea, for it is just out of my reach money wise. So I found an 03 White GT with 3,000 miles for only $19,000. Too good of a deal to pass up. So now that I've got this car, I want the speed and performance of the 03 Cobra that I originally wanted. I'm thinking of supercharger with intercooler, 4.10 gear, Exhaust, and other minor mods here and there. I have a few questions though to discuss on here. First thing I will do is the exhaust system. What do you guys prefer for the best sound? I was thinking H-pipe... I want to be relatively loud. I want to pull up next to someone and them be able to hear the exhaust really well. What should I go with? Also, 4.10 gear shouldn't be too low should it? Also, for appearance purposes,I want to lower the car a bit. The GT just sits up way too high.I am a complete idiot when it comes to this. What should I do to lower it maybe 1 - 1 1/2 inches? I don't want it too low, maybe as low as the Cobra's are or a bit lower. What do you suggest? Thanks a lot guys for the input.

dude i just bought a 96 gt, it has an h-pipe with 2 chamber flows, the thing sounds mean as hell, but an x pipe should be louder i think, but thats what you want right??....thats my opinion on the exhaust

I think if you just want plain loud...then go with an off-road x-pipe with some flowmaster 2 1/2" 40 series mufflers...that setup will be loud and scream with performance along with adding a few more horseys...<IMG src=smileys/smiley2.gif border="0">oh and dont forget to get MIL eliminators for your o2 sensors!!

I think you did yourself in man. It's going to cost $2,500 for a supercharger alone, maybe an intercooler, headers...etc etc. I bet by the time your done you will be up around 26-27,000 bucks total (including the car). <IMG src=smileys/smiley19.gif border="0">

u know for all the mods u just said u wanna do i guarantee ur going to spend like at least 5,000 on a supercharger, full exhaust and other "minor" mods will be like 1,000+ maybe, i say save the money and buy a used 03 cobra with around 20,000 miles for about 27-28 thousand, cause thats how much they will cost used @ 20K miles .<edited><editID>2002 Stang GT</editID><editDate>37876.0950231481</editDate></edited>

Look at the MRT suspension kit. It is a cheaper kit - around $600, it will lower your car I believe 1 1/4" in front and 1 1/2" in the rear. You don't have to screw with caster camber plates, control arms and all that sh**. It has gotten great reviews in magazines like MM&amp;FF. I think it is the perfect suspension set-up for a daily driver and its still tight enough to run with.</P>

I plan on getting mine once I am done with my gear install.</P>

Personally, I would't do 4.10's with a supercharger. If you're wanting to keep up with the new Cobras and you're thinking about a s/c with an intercooler, you're already in the ball game. A Kenne Bell s/c with intercooler would give you awesome results, but it has a hefty price tag. Your next best choice is a Procharger with intercooler&amp; 10 PSI boost will be a sweet setup on your car. Not to mention 1 grand cheaper than the Kenne Bell. Long tube headers with 2/12in exhaust, X or H pipe(H will give you more low end torque),75MM TB,Ported upper intake,K&amp;N filter, and 3.55-3.73 rear wil leave an '03 Cobra in your rear view mirror. At the end of this month this will be the setup on my car. Stay posted for Dyno results.
