Oils that are good for the 4.6L

RE: Oils that are good for the 4.6L
I used Mobil 1 10w-30. My car only took 5.5 quarts.
Just to tell you for future reference, you can't tell if your oil needs changing by the color...Usually, the oil will turn brown within 3 hours driving timeof an oil change. Don't justify it by that, always go by date or by mileage.
Ohhh and please don't use FRAM filters...they are best for smaller engines. My car hada FRAM on it before I bought it, and my first oil change wassuch a PITA. I went to open the filter, and Ishredded the wall of the filter and got oil everywhere.I always use Motorcraft, because if Ford uses them for race Mustangs, they're good enough for me.

Just my two cents. Follow this link to a good article on oil filter testing. Might
change your mind about Fram oil filters. It changed mine. I use nothing but Mobil 1
filters now.

FRAM's PH brand is the WORST filter to put on ANY car. The end caps are made of Cardboard (Possible collapse) and the check valve leaks dirty oil right back into your pan....These are just a couple of reasons why not to use FRAM. Wix and K&N are probably the best filters to use but, Motorcraft, Purolator, and NAPA GOLD (believe it or not) are some great filters at a great price.
