Default Oils that are good for the 4.6L

I need to change my oil which the color of the current old oil is a medium to almost dark brown color which I will now change the oil because of the color and I can see the dirt in the oil as well. I checked the shop manual and it does not say what is a good oilto get for a Ford. I was guessing a 10W30 Mobil one or Castrol Syntec. Does Mobil one make a semi synthetic? I would rather put mobil one in my car.

Search is your freind. Mobil 1 full synthetic is probably one of the most popular choices. I have no complaints.

I have no clue what kind of oil is currently in the car because I bought it from a dealership and I am the 5th owner too. If I put a full synthetic in it with out knowing what kind of oil it has in it. Will the full synthetic change the way the engine runs? Is that good or bad for the car? What is a good oil filter?

well the only thing about going to synthetic is that you have to keep up on the changes when there due. If you leave the synthetic in there for very long periods of time it can gum up on the inside of the valve covers. I dont think it will hurt to change from regular to synthetic but if it always had reg oil you might just want to do a blend oil. you can get a mobil 1 filter but I always ran fram even on dirt racing late models.
