The shiz out there is misleading...Apparently, 99+'s are pretty much all computer, and 96-97's are mechanical, but 98's have a little of both. So instead of making a seperate tuner for the 98's, the companies just kinda lumped it in there...

Some websites claim it will do A,B, and C only to find out that it will only do A on the 98's

Most all tuners will advance timing and SOME up shift firmness, but none I have seen will up shift points except dyno tuned chips.

who cares about shift firmness etc unless u have an auto... if u dont have an auto then that doesnt really matter. the tuner is STILL good to add a performance tune, up timing and adjust speedo..... EVEN if it doesnt do shift firmness etc... which only matters if u have an auto...

This is true of the Hypertech Programer also. It had all these features, but on the 98 only 1 feature could be used.[:@] So I got rid of that.

don't waste your money on these damn chips and mail order tunes. find a good SCT Tuner and dealer in your area and dyno tune it. mail order chips are a waste.

No way you will see 30 hp. 15 hp max....you don't really have any mods that require tuning.

a dyno tune isn't going to help you mutch because you dont have many mods. it's also expensive. when you do some bigger mods, like a blower or heads and cams, you have to tune it to make the car run properly. so until you do some major mods to your car, don't waste your time or money.
