Default S/C question

If I was to put a KB or Vortech on my '02 GT qould I have to upgraade any parts internally so that my reliability won't suffer? Keep in mind I wouldn't be taking this car to the drag strip or anything, just my everyday driver. I just want something "extra" in reserve for some fun once in a while.

If you run 6psi and take care of the motor you will be just fine and put about 340ish to the gound. Install some 4.10s and you'll have a pretty quick car.

I would install the 4.10s either way, I can't wait to get mine in.

Keep your boost down and you should be alright. Start saving for a forged bottom end, cause 6lbs will not be enough after a while

Can't you run 9PSI on a stock bottom end? Oh BTW Kenne Bell. LOL . But I'm pretty sure you can run 9 PSI without going crazy.

MD had 4.10s on his Stang but was running through the traps at the end of 4th gear. he put 3.73s on it, he likes it better.

9psi is about as much as a stock bottom ended can handle, the 6psi is a nice safe level and gives a nice boost.

4.10s work with a KB because of the torque curve, I wouldn't recommend them with Vortech or Procharger, but 4.10 on a blown car is like 4.30s on a stock car. 3.73 is a safe gear. 4.10s if you have no fears, LOL.

but now md is taking about going back to 410 cause well read......

https://mustangforums.com/m_367574/tm.htm

so i would say it depends on your set-up and what you really want

maybe 3.90 whould be the best who knows.....

I didn't read all of that the first time, but he's saying he has taller tires so he thinks he should be good with 4.10s after he has his tuner bump the redline up as well. I still think 4.10s would be too much for the thread starter.

but, I do agree with you (what I bolded out in your last post)
