how to get midpipe bolt off?

RE: how to get midpipe bolt off?
i'm still having problems with this damn bolt, i'm using a 18mm socket, fixed on a like 1 1/2" swivel, and over a foot in extensions, i've been spraying WD-40 on it but it still won't budge, i'm hitting the metal shield thing(firewall, inside of my fender well, or w/e it's called) with the elbowwhen i try to turn the bolt on the air wrench/socket. Is my best bet just getting a 18mm socket that is on an elbow so i can have more clearance?

EDIT: and some swivel sockets.

that's what i've been trying to use, i found out my major problem though, the stud is so rusted, you can't even see the threads anymore because they are that full of rust, how would i get rid of that? i can't really take a wire brush to it since it's in the most hard to reach spot

Remember that you can take off the wheel well plastic if you need to see wtf your doing, you dont even need to take it off all the way, just unclip thepush pinand hold the plastic back.

novi2000, i dno how i'd take it off and the main thing getting in my way, i guess it's the wheelwell as you said, it's metal, but i'll see if i can anyways. but as an update i sprayed it with PB blaster and tried getting it off right after just to see if i could, i ended up busting my extension[:@] so i guess tomorrow i'll spray it again, go in work, get another extension and see how it is tomorrow. if it don't come off by then i'm deff. takin the torch to it

I'd torch it. I'm lucky, though. I do my work in my baywith a lift and air tools, it's much easier. I give you guys props for doing work on jack stands with hand tools. Just keep spraying the bolt with PB blast. Use a 3/8 swivel socket. Good luck!

Jack stands, about 10" of extensions, one swivel, and one 10mm deep well socket ground about 1/4" shorter, and a 16-20" breaker bar... came out without much hassle... I didn't need PB blaster or anything but then again my stang is pretty new still. In fact, I had a harder time with one of the driver's side bolts than I did with the dreaded passenger side bolts [8D]
You may want to pick up some new exhaust manifold studs, just in case... The threads on mine felt fine, and everything seemed good but the nuts would not go back on no matter what I did... I could start them with my hand, and try to get them tightened up with the socket and they would just crossthread. Needed new studs, my midpipe had only been removed twice! (Once to swap in the prochamber, a second time to replace the gasket).
