Does my car hate me?????
I finallyfinished rebuildingmy stupid power steering pump and i got it installed today. i havent driven ina week in a half so you can understand the pain of that.so i go to drive it around the block to work out the air in thepowersteering lines and as i come to the stop sign my brakes wont work. thank godno one was at the t-intersection and acrossit was a steep drivway with no one in it. what the hell??? my car has been sitting for close to 2 weeks-why all of the sudden would itnot be working. the pedal is almost to the floor and if i push as hard as i can i can get it to stop if im going slow(dont want to test going fast). also the e-brake works just fine. alsothe front of my car has been on a jack for the last week in a half. thats all ican think of to describe everything. when i get home i will again try pumping the pedaland see if it helps. please someonehelp with all suggestions. what all do i need to do-i think i know but just to make sure-full description would really help so i dont need to ask anymore questions.

P/S and P/B work together? That's a new one by me!
Did you try pumping the pedal? Does it come back at all? Could be:
Bad master cylinder
Blown hose
Other leak somewhere
Some one cut (or a rock or something cut) a brake hose or steel line
How's the fluid level? Anything leaking onto the ground? Is the brake booster wet with fluid?

well i gave it a few hours, got home, tightened the power steering pully alittle more cause it didnt look all the way down, started my car up and right away the steering wheel turned great, but..........now i hear a loud humming noise. the breaks seem to be back but i havent taken it around the block yet so i think its ok now. back to the humming, i put my ear to the top of the p.s. resivor and it felt like it was vibrating so i'm not sure if it is coming from the p.s. somewhere or what but thats where it sounds like it is coming from. any suggestions? what could be humming and vibrating?
