Im currently at 343rwhp and want to reach my goal of 500rwhp, i want to keep this a street car. Obviously i will be building the rear/tranny as well.

 

You'll probably have to upgrade your fuel pump but I think it can be done with listed upgrades

 

I dont see why not... But probably will need dual pumps... Fuel wise Nanaki would probably know best... (only person on here that I even know of exceeding 500rwhp on our cars through boost)


How much boost is your blower supposed to go up to?

 

Yeah, i figured my current fuel setup wouldnt be enough. Im running a Walbro 255lph intank right now. It will definately settle for my current block, but i think once i start putting in the shortblock is when i should upgrade again. Id imagine that i would have to run somewhere around 13-15psi to reach 500rwhp...maybe not that much but just an estimate.

i'm running stage 3 heads and cams on my setup with full boltons and hit just shy of 550RWHP. that's also with a cobra tank and dual pumps, 60lbs injectors & 16psi with a 2.60 pulley. if you have an S trim, i wouldn't plan on taking it much further than 16psi either. mine levels out and begins to drop off close to redline. as long as you don't plan on 600RWHP, an S will be fine though.

you can find a used cobra tank and pumps for like 400-500 bucks. i got mine used for $450 shipped. never had a problem with it.

i WAS running the t-rex with 36lbs injectors and i was completely maxed out at 467. i believe lizzy and a couple others have reported about the same numbers for their 255 fuel pumps 450-470s.

it sucks breaking into the magical 500. you need to do so many more upgrades just to get an extra 30+RWHP.

 

haha yeah seriously, sounds like ill have to invest in all new injectors and fuel pump setup just to climb from 470 to hit that almighty 500rwhp. Oh well...and no i wasnt planning on taking the sq trim to 16psi because ive been told that even 15psi it starts to max out. Well, this plan is going to take a little while, but i do have the mini race and front mount sitting in my room so its a start. And i will be ordering the crower cams very shortly!!

I honestly think it would be a waste of money to invest in a whole new fuel setup for 30 more hp dont ya think? maybe ill stop once my current setup is at its limit...
