3650 limits?
I know when my car is all back together i will have alot more power then stock but when should i start to worry about breaking the tranny? I have a 3650. If i break it what would be the best upgrade that would be in the 1500$-2000$ range? Also how well does the stock axles hold up? I dont plan on driving like a nut case all the time but i would like to take it to the strip and be able to drive it back..

RE: 3650 limits?
I'm over 450 rwhp on a bonestock 3650 with a Spec stage 2 clutch. I normally run BFG DR's but I've mad a couple of passes on MT slicks. Granted I've upgraded to 31 spline, I still have yet to hurt my stock tranny. I'm sure the day will come, but after 50+ trips down the 1520 with the DR's, I haven't seen that day yet.
IMO, no need to worry to much about the27 spline rear axles until you're up in the 400 rwhp range on slicks.

RE: 3650 limits?
Limits or specifications? The maximum torque spec for the 3650 is 360 ft.lbs. (that's the "36" part). Though not specified I will assume they are referencing the input shaft, so this means 360 crankshaft HP at 5252 RPM.The limit (as in "whoops, I should have got a TKO 5/600") is, from what I have read here and elsewhere, 400 to 450 HP.The 8.8" rear-end/axles seem, also from scuttle-butt, to have a similar limit; I've not found an actual torque spec (torque is everything, HP only counts if you specify an RPM)for the 8.8 differential.

RE: 3650 limits?
mine is broke...
1-2 sliders...
2nd gear
shift fork stoppers..
I'm looking at close to $700 in parts
THe 2nd gear assembly its self is only $93
The sliders are $87
The blocking ring kit, only sold as a complete set for every gear is $359... []
Those are prices from hanlon motorsports, a real nice guy by the way...
If anyone knows of cheaper prices I'd appreciate it..

RE: 3650 limits?
yea thats what i'm thinking... I dont think the labor will be much as I know the guy pretty good.. but at the same time I don't really even want to spend the $600 on a transmission that WILL break again
