would it be a waste of money to buy an intake manifold and not plan on swapping the pi heads or doing anything else to it? and would what kind of increase in power would i get?

No it is not a waste, you will see about 20rwhp n/a. you will gain more from that intake than all bolt ons combined, if not pretty damn close.

I was never a fan of the kits that people sell of ebay and having to rtv the intake and such. Ive had buddies have problems with that route, but then again i read about guys on here not having problems. To be absolutely sure you wont have a problem and for a complete kit check out www.livernoismotorsports.com . $499 comes with everything you will need
