Default YO md and jdaniel!!!

OK, took my car in to the shop to get a diagnosis on a check engine light (EGR valve crap... blah blah blah) Anyway, The guy who owns the shop, who I have talked to many times about mods and tech tips and install help, tells me he has 4.6 motor with PI heads, intake and FRPP shorty headers he would sell me. I want the PI heads/intake and cams. I'll ****** the headers too! He sai he'll sell it to me for $300.00!!!! A steal anyday, and he knows that. He works on a lot of mustangs. Thing is, he said the motor ran great, it was some chicks car and she ran it with no oil and fried it i guess, nto sure how bad she fuxed it up. He said the ehads and all in "perfect shape". Said he would show them to me and I could take a look at the heads/cams myself if I was interested... My question to you intelligent tech type people is.. How would the driving this motor dry affect the ehads/intake and cams??? Shoudl they still be in "perfect conditon" There is 55,000 mile son the motor. If these parts are going to be in fine shape (safe and reliable to pu tin my car) I'm gonna go get them in the morning before someone else does. What do you guys think???PLeas elet m eknow and give me some feedback, also,if I look at the heads/cams for wear and distress, what exactly am I looking for that will let me know that this is not a good idea or that these parts are fried...

Well since they are not installed then at the very most I would say $400-$500. I would definetly save for it if you dont currently have the money and have no problems with the current heads. It will be well worth the wait.

so snag this deal on the heads/intake/cams... and then get P&P, and then install them. My current heads are in fine shape! Will I be able to use the stock cams (the cams with the PI heads) after a P&P??? I'm looking to keep this reasonable as far as price goes, But I understand this is not a cheap mod... And I don't wanna half *** it!

The heads and intake should be fine it the cams Im worried about! Any engine internal will be in bad shape without proper lubrication, but you could pick them up anyway and take them to a shop and see what the guys there have to say about it. If you post a few pics of the cams I could take a look and see if I could see any damage, but it would be best to take them to someone so they can look at them up close!

Yes you will be able to use the stock cams, the porting and polishing will just make better use out of them! If you go wild with the porting I suggest that you check into different cams!

Hey buddy i just got youre PM.... Well... There are not any real signs you can look for. If she ran out of oil that means the cams didnt get oiled. Which isnt good. I mean they would have some oil, but not it they ran it out of oil. lol.. Im not sure if i would jump on it or not. depends onwhat they look like. If it were me i would buy them... bring them to a head shop and have them checked over for anything bad. Also if the heads have a problem, they will either be warped or cracked. Check in the valve areas and check for small cracks. warped.... well you can check that with a stright edge. But the price isnt bad for "perfectly fine" parts. I can get heads and cams for 300. But you get headers for free with the deal. So i'd say yeah. Buy them and have them checked if they are good, go ahead and have them ported and polished. Then you will gain even more. and cleaned up and ready for install. Then guy the insall kit from FORD or another online store. Then ask the guy how much to install since he works with ponys alot. Even if you dont have money for install. Let them sit... until you make money for install. So in conclusion.... buy them. Take a look at them first like i said, cracks, and warped heads. Then also check for any signs of burned surfaces. then have them worked at a machine shop. then install. You'll be happy!
