Default Midpipe

So, i went to ashop today, he took a look under my car to see what i wanted to do..i told him id be putting a new o/r midpipe on. He pulled out an x connectorand said he can supply the piping and put it all on for $170.00 flat w/ a lifetime warrenty

So it will be like an o/r x pipe. going to my flowmaster mufflers.

My question is has anyone had custom x pipes made? how they end up sounding? i think it will sound fine w/ my flows on right now, just trying to get a 2nd or 3rd opinion.

Thanks

not a fan of o/r x's and flows, too raspy and loud, not enough depth, MAGNAPACKS!but it will sound almost identical as if you bought an x pipe from somewhere and had him install, the sound should be the same, if hes not an idiot.

So for 170 youll have a chopped up, stock 2.25" midpipe with cats? Doesn't sound like a deal to me. Id look for a cheap used x pipe for 100 bucks(if cost is an issue)and do the install yourself. Then you can always put the stocker back on if you need to. Isn't someone(Du510 I think) selling a stainless bassani x pipe for like 250?

I think the mechanic has the x pipe and will remove the stocker h and fab up new pipes....with no cats, from the manifolds back to the rear joint. Thats my impression of the situation anyways.

and to each his own on the flows...
