Default Front Brake Upgrade

Ok, it's time to fix the brakes. My rotors are shot in the front and, as many have said here, if I have to fix it I might as well upgrade. I like the 2001 Bullit's and have already put the suspension package from that car on my 97 GT. I'd like to get these:

Anyone know how much these will help my car's performance? Also, is there anywhere else I can get them at around $400 instead of $450? I am in the military, so if you know of a place that offers a military discount, that would be great.

Thanks to all in advance.

Check this place out

http://www.buyfordracing.com/shop/index.php?cPath=6

or you could go to www.StangSuspension.com they offer Military discounts, but the above place will probably beat anyones posted price.

Either that or go with the cobra break kit, it will run you about 850.00 both front and back. it comes with everything you need to get the job done. Americanmuscle.com has the best price and free shipping.

Stangsuspension will beat prices and they have a discount, I used them for my kit. Don't wast your time with the full upgrade unless you need rears too,Cobra rear brakes are virtually identical to GTs.

Yeah, I don't want to worry about the rear for the moment. The front is where most of the stopping power happens, if my memory serves me correct. So, is $400 the best I'm going to do for the front upgrade? Also, has anyone had either the bullit or the cobra kit? How much better is it?

And,I don't know about anyone else, but I am severely against putting anything Cobra on my car simply because it isn't one. So, when it comes to to the calipers, I will put the ponys on there but not the cobra sign.

I know most of your braking is done up-front. but correct me if im wrong, but arent the rear rotors on a cobra just a little bit bigger than the gt????

Well basically it deosnt matter whether you get the mach 1, cobra or the bullitt. there all better than your stock gt brakes and are going to provide you with about the same stopping power if not identical. the choice is yours..............i just dont know what you have against cobras, do you hate you big sister..........lol

HA!!! I have absolutely nothing against Cobras. You're reading it wrong. I respect them so much, I won't put anything that says Cobra on my car. Under the hood, yeah. But I don't want to display Cobra if I don't have one.

And no one seems to be raving about these brake upgrades. Can you tell a bitg difference? I'm not going to pay $400 for pretty little red things with ponies on them if they don't work noticably better than the stock ones. Anyone out there who could tell the difference? I know, devore86, you said they work better, but how much?

The bullitt, mach 1, and cobra brakes above are all the same except the lettering on them. On the bullitt brakes it has a horse and on the cobra brakes it says "cobra." Get them from buyfordracing, I got mine for like 360 from there. It definetly improves stopping.
