Default P1443 Evaporative Emission Control System Control Valve

P1443 Evaporative Emission Control System. any ideas? it sounds really stupid, but could this have anything to do with my tranny going out because the CEL came on when i was driving home in second at like 40 mph because i had no thrid gear? or is this just some odd coincadence? what would i need to fix to get it to turn off?

I have no idea what it is or does but my car throws that code and I don't have tranny problems and the car still runs fine.

It was probably the gas cap. It's very similar to the GM DTC P0445. It's an EVAP thing. It's basically a really fancy way of saying the gas cap was loose. Even if it is tight now, the code has to be cleared before it goes away. Check the pass and fail history to see if it has failed every ignition, or just one a while ago.

Whenever I let my gas get below 1/8th of a tank, without fail I get this code.

No idea why- I just fill my tank and poof it is gone.

Were you low on gas?

P1443 I believe is a Purge Valve SolenoidFault...Purge solenoid is located under the back of the car next to gas tank..Could be a bad purge valve, voltage to it...leak..
