Default high mileage engine

on a high mileage engine wat usually goes bad that makes people stay away from them?

is it always a bad thing to have high miles or if the person takes care of their car (oil change..good gas..etc..) does it change the game up?

Default RE: high mileage engine

if i were you, i would check the compression and see if it is burning oil. ring wear or blowby would cause you to lose compression. i dont know what the actual numbers sholud be (hopefully somebody else who know will chime in) but the general rule i have heard it that it is probably fine if they are all within 10% of eachother.

there are alot of other things that could go wrong, but i think that is one of the main problems.
