RE: Car sitting up
well if you're going to *store* it,clean the sh*t out of it,drain all fluids, put it on jackstands, remove battery, stuff tailpipes, andintake tube...why are you storing it for 4 years? you know you can have your car once you get to your duty station...right?

Marine's do 7 months deployed 6 months home usually,it all depends on your unit. I'm in the military as well, and it would suck to not have a car, even if you live on post. Plus, the military will store your car on post untill you return for free if you like.

RE: Car sitting up
yeah im in the chair force. im actually stationed at tyndall not too far from u (i drove to mobile to meet my parents who brought me my gt this last weekend actually). so if you want...whenever u deploy just drive down here first and ill watch after her for ya [8D].
seirously tho take ur car to ur duty station, you can actually get your car as early as tech school right after u graduate basic (atleast in the chair force i dont think it would be any different for other branches). if you dont do it initailly i guarantee youll be calling ur parents to bring it. oh and if you do decide toget ur car at tech school make sure u dont have 2 different tech schools because your (atleast with us) mandated to take a bus from one tech school to another, so cars make things complicated. if u have 2 then get it at the second and you can DITY move yourself to PDS, and you make bank off it actually (i made almost 800$ to come here from texas)
and most insurance companies (including USAA which ull learn about if u dont know about it already) have a deployment insurance policy, your rates drop to nothing since the car wont be used but you still maintain coverage on the vehicle incase something happens (flooding, fire, tornado, someone cranes it while its parked, etc...)
