Default engine swap?

I was talking to my buddy with an '01 GT, and im looking into swapping the heads on my '97 GT. I'm looking at about a grand or more for the swap, but he brought up the idea of swapping a used 99+ GT engine in for mine for around a grand or so. Ive got about 110,000 miles on mine right now, so swapping in one with less miles, and better stock heads sounds good to me. What do you guys think?

that looks like a pretty good deal, do you know how much it would cost for an install? I know a guy who could do it for me and he prolly wouldnt charge me, but if he did, i want something to compare it to.

If your lookn for more of a performance upgrade, just do the heads. You will see more power from that due to a smaller dished piston in the 96-98s which will raise compression ratio. In saying that, you will also have to run premium fuel. But if your lookn for alil more power and engine with less miles that will prob last longer, then stick with the full swap.

I agree with stonemonk. the full motor isn't hard to swap. if your on a budget, this would be the best overall move.

Depending on how far you actually get into it you can range from 40-100 rwhp. This would include porting the heads, cams, headers (easier to do with heads off or engine out)
