Clutch & Flywheel Question

Clutch & Flywheel Question
I've got a 2004 GT Convertible, stock (performance-wise).
I heard a noise, and was told it's the throwout bearing, and that I've got about 10,000 miles before it goes, so I figured I would start researching and asking around now. This of course, is the asking around part
What clutch and flywheel do you recommend for a car whose purpose is my daily driver, driven in traffic some, and out on the highway some? At some point in the future the car will get a supercharger, but that's years away, so not really a consideration now.
My mechanic recommended an upgraded clutch and a lightweight flywheel... do you all agree?
Thanks!

RE: Clutch & Flywheel Question
Alot will say centerforce dual friction, they are great. Could also get the King Cobra too alot like them. If you want some great clamping power SPEC Stage III orCenterforce is the way to go. Check Jegs they have some preatty good deals on Clutches. americanmuscle.com too. Hope this helps a bit.

RE: Clutch & Flywheel Question
I got the fidanza flywheel and f1 racing clutch the wear in is painful (literally). But now thatI wore it in it works great. The flywheel takes some getting used to it revs down almost as quick as it revs up.This combo is on ebay and is a pretty good deal.

RE: Clutch & Flywheel Question
King Cobra will NOT fit a tremec 3650 transmission. If all your doing is daily driving, stick with a ford OEM. If you want to make some extra power in the future hit up a centerforce or a spec

RE: Clutch & Flywheel Question
Who told you 10000 miles? It all depends. Some throw out bearing will make noise for ever, but never take a crap while other will blow in no time. My suggestion is just wait till it goes completely. And for a clutch, SPEC stage 1 is fine for right now, maybe a stage 2 since you mentioned a supercharger. As for a flywheel, just have your old one resurfaced. There really isnt any need for a lightweight one. The only thing that will do is allow your revs to go and up down quicker, which is really only good for road racing.
