Hey, I heard a rumor at a swap meet that there might be 4.6 heads comming out. Does anyone confirm this and anyone see any pics of the new bbk manifold. chris

I have heard the rumours but not seen anything on heads but only new intakes.

The intakes have been out for a few weeks. Saw one advertised for $789 somewhere.

The BBK is not supposed to be out until late this year.

Edelbrock has a new Victor jr. intake for the 4.6 out too.

The Trickflow manifold looks identical to a stock piece with added distance and complicated curves for the air to travel through. I would like to see some dyno numbers. The only manifold that looks ike a redesigned performance unit is the P51.

You must be comparing it to the Bullitt intake.... As far as complicated curves, you must be thinking of the stock plastic intake. Nothing complicated about the Trickflow. The upper intake is similar to the Bullitt, but the lower is different, providing a straight shot into each cylinder.

As far as heads go, I haven't heard a thing about that. I would thinkthey would be too costly for an aftermarket company to manufacture.

IIRCTotal Engine airflow sold it's CNC process to Trickflow and Trickflow is trying to design heads to out perform the Patriot Performance heads while trying to hit the market at the same price as the PP heads. I just hope they are as good as their 5.0 aftermarket parts. It would be nice if they cam e out with a top end kit for our cars at a competitive price

I can't wait to see them. Trick Flow has kept it pretty damn gangster with all their products, I doubt they will come out with a set of heads that sucked. As for complicated curves, you must be talking about a different manifold. Like OV10 said, there is nothing complicated about the intake runners on this manifold. You should really see the inside of one, I wish I woulda taken pics before the install.

does the P-51 still make the most power out of them all?

In " Building 4.6/5.4L Ford Horsepower on the Dyno " by Richard Holdener the P-51 largest gains were 16 HP @ 6,000 RPMs and 14 FT-LBS @ 5,800 RPMs. Granted this was on this was compared to a PI engine that made 331 HP @ 5,700 RPM vs
P-51341 HP @ 5,800 RPM and 342 FT-LBS @ 4,200 RPM vsP-51 346 Ft-LBS @4,400 RPM.

From What I've heard and read.....the TRickflow made slightly less..... I'll try to find numbers but unfortunately this book came out before the Trickflow went to market so It will be hard finding a similar engine to compare results.

I would only go with the P-51 or Trickflow
