Ive hit 150ish once in my car (auto) I really cant tell you whats wrong...maybe you have 4.30's
That wouldn't be the problem. I have 4.30's and my car can pull up past 135. I haven't pushed it further yet though, but I had plenty of RPM left to go.

As to the OP's problem, it may be the governor, but when my car was stock, it would not pull much at all past 125-130 when I shifted to 5th (my OD). It may just be that you don't have the "umph" to overcome the wind resistance at that speed.
Yea u have a 5 speed...our autos are only 4
Yeah, but overdrive still sucks, whether it is in an auto or a 5 speed.

The automatic & stock gearing is what's making it hard for your car to accellerate at 100+

Stock speed limiters are 168mph. What do you need to go over 130 anyway? You don't stand a chance against a turbo honda or other fast front wheel drive car up that high anyway. Mustangs shy of a Cobra aren't highway cars. (there are exceptions) 2 valves don't breath.

Stock speed limiters are 168mph. (Otherwise known as wind resistance)
To the OP...Wheels, 16 inch or 17 inch??

I'd bet a dollar that they are 16's, and Ford's governor is set at 125-128. Thats apparently where Crown Vic PI's are set at, they top out at about there- unless you are going downhill.

Definitely get a tuner when you can. They are most helpful for our autos. Firmed shift points + 4.10's = Almost as fun as a 5 speed

you want to go fast for fun. 1. Get a Tuner and take out speed governor. 2. Get 17 inch rims and "Z" rated tires. Noone ever said speed was cheap. but you have to pay to play. those are two quick / mildly expensive changes to make, but should work like a dream. OR you could always sell the AUTO POS and get a 5 spd with stock 17's and you'll already be able to hit over 140-150, which was stated earlier.

My pos auto is able to reach those speeds, if I was dumb enough.

You also have a tune and a few other little goodies. This guy is sitting in a stock push 6. Not very likely your 6 made that when it was stock.

It would have. In a stupid moment I had it to 135, it was still climbing when I shut down, bone stock.

And I'll bite, what are you talking about "My 6?"
