A friend and I ere messing on the park way 2 gether and he said his car jumped and then wouldnt go over a certain rpm and it started running real bad. When we pulled over and looked at it his car smelled like gas real bad, started smoking out the tail pipes but stopped ( smoke was white) and then under the hood started smokin white smoke littley. He has a 2002 gt manual basically stock under the hood. only 27K miles on it.

would this be a head gasket/ smelled like gas real bad after this. but he doesnt have cats either.

ya racin alil and drop the clutch hard. downshifting from 3rd to 2nd real hard. he's not exactly the best driver either.

well if you dont have cats, you'll get white smoke out of the pipes.. from where under the hood was the smoke comeing from?

he proble overreved on a downshift and poped the gasket er somethin like that. if your friends lucky all he will need is a new gasket

we dont know it wasnt real bad under the hood but u could see it the most when the hood was closed it would come out from under it in the front above the lights. You could tell somethin is wrong cuz the car was running real weird jus idealing almost like a cam real lopy and rough.

is your friend losing coolant at all? thats a sign to look for also for a blown gasket.

there were no leaks on the ground but couldnt tell by just lookin at the engine. ALso it didnt throw any codes yet but i was told sometimes it take a bit to throw it...

if you see that low coolent light come on and its overheating, you've got a big problem...dont drive more than 10 mins with out fixing it or it will lead to other problems.. happend to me...its really hard getting to the head gaskets and will cost alot for someone else to do it

thats really the only thing i can think of that would throw WHITE smoke out the pipes. im no master tech tho lol. but heres a test on the coolant i saw on another site. open the resevoire tank and rev the motor, see if coolant is getting lost, if so thats a 90%chance its a gasket
