Yeah, it'll lower your car a couple of centimeters.

Really they just are for vibration absorbtion. No reason to remove them.

Cut the springs.

No really, you can get some Ford C springs for $149 and they lower about an inch and a quarter or so. That's gonna be your cheapest way, and I don't even know what springs would lower it 1/2". If you're going to lower it, most people want to get rid of the 4x4 look completely, not just half way.

If your only looking for 1/2 inch removing the ISO's will be the cheapest way. They are about 1/2 inch thick.
