Default Long Tubes???

SO
the next mod I do will be long tube headers pretty much decided
what is wrong with the pace setter headers or the flowtechs???

ill prolly end up getting BBK but i want to know why you wouldn't use the ones i listed above
i hear 2 schools of thought on this one
1. a header is a header
2. these are better and heres why!

thanks guys
Charlie

you get what you pay for, bottom line, its said time and time again, if you buy cheap **** dont except good long lasting results, get the BBKs like me and the rest of planet earth, they are decently priced, fit decent, and are ceramic coated

the biggest reason people like companies like slp, bbk, kooks, orhookeris because fitment is good (some better than others),they have good-solid welds (which meansNO LEAKING), they have strong materials, and some have better bends which means better flow.

it sounds like you want LTs and dont wanna have to pay a lot, well heres my suggestion: look at MAC or BBK. Youll pay right at 400 or so for BBK or MAC ceramic coated headers and youll be happy.

I have the MAC and havent had the first problem. My g/f also has em on her v6 for about 6months and she hasnt had a problem either. the welds looked ok. fitment could have been better but its a 4.6 WHAT DO YOU EXPECT????

Well since i actually have the flowtechs I will tell you my opinions on them. I bought the flowtechs for $175 new off someone who never put them on. They werent ceramic coated, and of course mine are all rusty now. I even sandblasted them and applied header specific paint and heat cured them as instructed. It was a waste of time to paint them. The sh*t started flaking off after a couple weeks. As far as fitment goes, they arent horrible, some things could be better, but it wasnt horrific as some people like to claim. The one thing i hate the most about them is the goddamn slip joint on the drivers side header. It leaks slightly and causes a little tick.

Now that I have bitched about them let me tell you the pros. I spent $220 on a set of headers(including gaskets). You cant argue about the price. Performance wise I would be willing to bet that these headers flow just as good as the more expensive headers, if not better than some. If you are looking for a cost efficent header to make power with then go with the flowtechs, if you have the money go with a ceramic coated BBK or MAC.

BBK FTW!! dont expect to easily be able toget MACs back on if you have to take them off for any reason.
