PI Swap with VT Stage 2's
Alright so who's running a PI swapped car with VT Stage 2's? Clearance issues? Power made? Etc....
I'm thinking about putting these cams in while the motor is in the car. Just leaving the car in time and putting them in...

RE: PI Swap with VT Stage 2's
You cant use vt stage 2 cams with the stock npi pistons you will have ptv issues. You need to get a set of dished pistons for clearance, but I got a set of compcams stage 2's for the npi with 495 lift and did not have to dish my pistons when I did the swap.

Well mmr sells comps for pi heads that need notched pistons. I thought vt engines did too, I cannot find it saying that anywhere.Although they don't specify for use with npi pistons. I always thought that much lift was too much. But if he knows they'll work go with em.

I know what you're saying. MMR's site isn't 100% accurate imo. It claims their notched pistons are required for all stage 2 and 3 cams. Well, not all stage 2 cams are the same andnot allrequire flycut pistons, so that is incorrect. Ive spoken with people who have installed the comp 270s (Im assuming those are MMRs "comp cams stage 2"). Plenty of people have VT stage 2s with no issues whatsoever. OP: Just call VTengines and ask them over the phone, they design the cams, they'll answer your question. And get new valve springs with the cams.
