No it wont make the smell worse. The dumps are the greatest thing I had ever done to my car for about a year.... It was so freaking sick having the dumps on my car. Cutting off the pipes and leaving the pipes straight off the muffler was better though. I do A LOT of driving. 80k in 2.5 years... I loved it for "woodward 06" everyone kept asking what exhaust I was running and if I had long tubes... lol It was awesome like I said, but I was getting ready to take my trip back home to California from Michigan and I knew I would hate my 4600 mile trip if I couldn't carry on a conversation without that drone. Remember too that I have a convertible and I'm "30". I drove my Novas (smallblocks big cams w/ flows) with turndowns for 10 years and loved it. But, now I want a little better quallity in my ride. It may make a difference with dynomat. I'll be trying that next summer.

thats a good idea. i didnt even think to dyno mat the floor. I had that stuff in my last car when i had a nice stereo and what a diff that made. yeah i want to set off car alarms when i drive by. I prefer the lower sounding exhuasts but ive ridin in some 4 bangers (dont laugh im not comparing the sounds of a 8 to a 4) but the drone on a 4 banger with those fart cans is completly unbareable!! If its that bad or worse im not gonna consider it. just figured that would be a cheaper route instead of droping 400 plus

I have a BBK o/r x-pipe with Flowmaster original 40 Series with dumps and it sounds great. I absolutely love the way my car sounds but the one of the drawbacks of running dumps is blowing dust everywhere. On dry summer days its horrible, especially if you drive down any dirt roads. I dont have a paved driveway so everytime I start up my car, it blows dust everywhere. Hopefully I will be getting my driveway paved soon . But other than that you will be happy with them.

I'm happy with mine, Not sure how much a 5.0 and 4.6 would differ, but heres my 0.2 anyway. Didn't notice if there was any additional drone then my existing setup before I dumped it. For me it made the smell a little worse, but only when you come to a stop it seems. Driving is fine, then when you come to a red light its like all the exhaust catches up with you and you smell it Only with the windows down though. Its not bad or intense IMO, I'm keeping it like it is. Oh, I do have a slight exhaust leak from the drivers side header though, due to the BBK headers not fitting the BBK mid pipe 100%[:@] That might be making my smell worse than others.
