So I wake up last for calculus and im throwing clothes on to get out the door ASAP. I get right in my car and start driving through the neighborhood. I get around the corner from my street and I am at an intersection stopped. My car starts shaking, I look down and the rpm's are bobbing around 400-600 rpm, usually idles at whatever stock configuration is 750ish. All my gauges are good, oil pressure, fuel, volts, everything. Keep in mind the car is cold, but I drive it all the time cold with no issues. I rev it up and it keeps misfiring and sputtering. I go straight because traffic is clear and the car keeps sputtering and misfiring as I accelerate down the road. About 1/2 mile down the road its fine. No MIL, no nothing, any ideas???

at first I thought maybe the IAC valve burped but it was sputtering during revs. Then I thought maybe a clogged fuel filter, but I swapped it out 5k mi ago. Then maybe bad gas, but I always use Shell, Chevron, and Exxon, premiums, I'm at a loss.

sounds like maybe a coil pack going bad?

it could be anything.. IAC, MAF.. bad gas? have you gotton gas from an unknown station lately?? almost sounds like your timing was off though..

all gas is from a previously used well known source. I have no idea. I cant diagnose anything because the MIL did not come on. Most people want their MIL to stay off, the time I need it to come on to diagnose the problem, its stays off....typical

Sounds like a clogged fuel filter or fuel pump on the way out. Really could be anything ignition/fuel related. Check the easy stuff first. All it takes is one bad batch of gas to clog a filter.

If it was bad gas I would think it would have continued to run ****ty. My car does this sometimes too, but i am at a loss as to what is causing it.
