ATF Leaking everywhere
i recently changed my drive shaft, and i keep smelling a weird oil burning smell. so today i got under my car and there is a slow drip coming from the my trans, is this just a seal? i need some help!! i dont want to run it dry!!!
no not too hard to replace. Raise the back of the car a pretty good amount(so you don't drip tranny fluid out) disconnect the driveshaft, pull out the old seal and install the new one. Install driveshaft, loctite driveshaft bolts and lower. top off fluid if you did loose some.
today i tried it, and while i was under there i realize that my new driveshaft is about an inch maybe more, away from my tranny, not the spline, the big circle closest to the u joint, i didnt look at my stock shaft so i dont know if this is normal? and that damn seal is not easy to get out!!!
If I remember you have to swap over the front yoke of your old driveshaft to the aluminum one. While you have it out measure the length from end to end to insure you have proper engagement. If this doesn't apply disreguard.
