RE: 310rwhp GT?
i wish i could have cams but im still under warranty.... can you run a blower cam and not have a blower yet and it still run perfectly fine? cause i will have a blower one day under my hood and want to cams also so can i get the blower cams first and then the blower?
also, would it be worth it if i had a port polish done to my stock heads? would it show much power at all?

I cant see the point in spending $2100 on a set of heads and cams when a vortech tuner kit is $2300... more power with better drivability and a cheaper install

do you still have stock internals 2000?? if so, you are pushing that line of grenading your $hit if you do better flowin heads and an intake. not do to the hp but the higher rev needed to keep the power curve with a n/a setup... just something to think about..

I am seriously thinking of getting a set of stage 2 patriot heads. I can totally beileve 309 RWHP with thouse mods.
I was thinking somewhere along the lines of the stage 2 heads and a new intake (hopefully bbk will bring out that intake I have heard rumored for around 800 bucks). 2 dyno shops have told me to expect close to 320 RWHP with the heads and intake, in a totally streetable car.
BTW, MM&FF are running these heads on their "project Icebox". I think they picked up dammed near 100 RWHP with these heads on a supercharged car (with cam install).

I talked to a guy at a dyno shop and he said a 00 gt with l/t ,stage two cams and patriot heads pulled out 309rwhp at the wheels after the dyno tune. Thats awesome, has anyone heard of these heads?

Your saying that with this head and intake combo the engine will have to rev higher to make more horsepower??? I guess I can see this in a way, but I am still thinking it would be a major increase in HP up to 6k RPM.

How do you figure? What does engine RPM have to do with it? I am simply installing a better head/intake combo.

an OHC engine has to rev to make power by nature. what he's saying is, the motor will perform best up top. my comp 270's are supposed to pull to 6800. at 4200 rpms i am making 250 rwhp and they take off to just over 300 at 6K. but they don't kick in until 4K, and i make no more power than stock under 3K. you trade low end power for top end power in an n/a OHC set up.

RE: 310rwhp GT?
hes saying that head / cam cars make peak power much higher in the rpm band... a typical head / cammed combo is meant to be shifted past 6500 rpm... often higher. RPM + power will kill the stock rods... the more rpm you go the less power they'll hold.
and about the vortech kit... you cant get a complete kit for $2300, you get a tuner kit.
