Default Aluminum Driveshaft

Anyone have one? They arent very expensive and it'd be an easy part to install, how much more power do you really get to the ground with one? I'd imagine it couldnt be much but I was kind of curious when I saw how cheap they are. Lightweight driveshaft and some 4.10's sounds like fun.

Any input?

doesnt really make power...or really increase it. it just reduces the ammount of "mass" the engine has to turn and spin to make power. kinda like taking out your back seat, less weight = less mass.

Well it shouldn't "make" more power but it should allow more power to get to the wheels because less is being lost in rotation a heavier driveshaft. Like I said I couldnt imagine it'd be much but I was kind of curious.

go with a bigger diameter shaft, handles more power, and what do most ppl think of when they here aluminum?? weak/light metal, IMO stay away from aluminum, i do new production testing onsite, and aluminum anything= something bad going to happen

Aluminum Driveshafts are stronger than stock, and are more than enough unless you start making insane power- then it is time for Chromoly or Carbon Fiber.

I have the aluminum FRPP unit on mine. I did not notice any difference between it and the stock unit performance wise.

Rofl.

Seriously, your not going to break an aluminum driveshaft with any sort of power level your going to actually be able to make. With 420 WHP, 4500+ RPM launches and tons of abuse mines holding up great.

I love how your sig says you have a "nos ready driveshaft" lol. And adding diameter without changing material is going to really increase the weight.. not what you want to do.

The aluminum IS much greater in diameter though... simply because it takes more of it for the same/greater strenght. even so, it was still a few (9?) pounds lighter than the stock shaft.
