Default Stock rev limiter?

I've been 100% under the impression that the stock 4.6 2v 5 speed rev limiter was 6250 RPM... Well, recently (after the last auto-x actually) I have learned that my car sounds literally orgasmic above redline... So today I went to push it to just 6000 for a second,I go WOT in second gear and I'm watching the tach and it look like I hit 5900-6000 or so before the rev limiter kicked in... it stopped twice and I let go of the gas (I was timing it anyway).

So any others out there have any experience with the rev limiter on the stock tune?

Yes... its very gay and the first day after I took my predator off I bounced off the rev limiter twice going down the track. I had mine set to 6300 on the tuner and it was very nice.

Mine's got a stock tune and I thought I hit it at about 5900, but I guess I could be wrong. I wasn't watching the tach when I bounced off of it.

I wouldn't move the rev limiter up unless you have some new valvesprings though... for anyone else reading this. Could easily float a valve with stock springs.

do you guys rev your motors all the way out at the dragstrip or do you stop at like 5250 where it stops making power, just curious?

I rev over because when you rev over and shift gears your RPM's will drop (hopefully) right back into your peak HP band.

Yeah when I was doin 120mph in front straight of Willow Springs raceway, I hit at least 6100 in 4th. My 4.10's wont letme get much faster than that in 4th anyway, dropped into 5th, and slowly went up.
