I want to see what all this looks like, especially the custom box...
Why would you not want all that in there? I have been working on getting all my mach crap out and putting thousands of dollars into my stereo. Wish i would have bought one with all that. [:@][:@][:'(]

Im calm, you asked a question....
and i got this.... Like i stated 2 times allready, i grew out of that ****,

anyways, doesnt matter.. Welcome to the site... all i know is that the wiring is going to be a PITA if they disconnected the amps, the Dumbaaa that had the car before me just cut all the wires coming and going to the amp rack in the trunk. So i just put two subs in it and replaced all the door and deck speakers with an aftermarket head unit and re-wired everything myself.
Hope somebody can help you out a little more with this matter.
Good luck.

Then my guess would be just to install a head unit and run the speaker wire from the head unit to each speaker..

OK guys heres how it goes down.

If you have an aftermarket head unit, and you use a harness to plug into the already wired speaker system, you are going to go to the front speakers, and the rear amps. From the rear amps, you go to your rear speakers. IF, you take out the Mach amps, AND you are using a wire harness with your aftermarket stero, your rear speakers WILL NOT WORK ANY MORE ONCE THE REAR AMPS ARE REMOVED. From there, you have to run 2 sepperate wires from the back of your head unit to the rear speakers. I JUST got done doing this. I re-wired my entire car and it was a bitch. I didnt like how my aftermarket stero was still using those POS MACH 460 amps :-p. While you do this, you will need to run a wire to your woffer, and then splice that, and run it to your tweeters as well. Like I said, its a bitch.

so if there are no amps under my rear decklid...

easiest would be to just swap head units?

Keep it aftermarket?
I would get all my sound?
