a built 5.4 DOHC. heres one. Brand new from ford. Not bad its only $4400 http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts...tKeyField=6889
It would be sicker to have a twin turbo 5.4.
From a Bling bling aspect and car show thing, the twin turbo would be cool, but for performance, one large turbo will out perform the twin.

Not only for bling bling. But a twin turbo set up will spool up faster than just a single one. Resulting in a shorter lag time.

i think in the MMFF article they had to make some sort of mount for the 4.6 intake as the 5.4's deck height is a half inch or so taller than the 4.6. I think that would be the biggest impediment to doing it. I saw the original article, but like all interesting articles they split it up over a couple of months and i never saw the final results.

Actually twins have more lag. That's why Supra's and ZX's take one off and run 1 turbo. The easiest fix for turbo lag is to throw a 50 shot on it to get it out of the hole until the turbo spools.

What would really be cool, that no one has ever done. Is put a 6.8 liter SOHC V-10 in your stang. You can get one from a E350, F350 or excursion.

Just because there arent any performance parts out there for it doesnt mean it cant make good power. You can have a good machine shope port and polish the heads. And intake manifold. OR get custom pistons or rods. If you have the money, almost anything can be accomplished.

I have had experience with a nose heavy car, I did a iron 440 cu.in, in my 72 Duster (3400 lb. car). Now that I am Mustang focused. This post is really interesting. Are the 5.4L engines discussed here all aluminum ?? That would be way cool !!
