S/C my Cobra?

S/C my Cobra?
I just did a Cobra swap in my GT. It is a 96 cobra motor with 53kmi. It runs beautiful with no issues at all. I would like to strap a Vortech to it but I'm not sure what kind of power I should be worried about giving it? The Vortech website says 45-50% for a P600B intercooled on 6psi. That would be right around 500hp at the flywheel with the mods that I have! What is the limit for 1996 Cobra engines before things get unsafe for a stock motor? Thanks

RE: S/C my Cobra?
I always heard that the 96-98 cobra engines would handle anything you could throw at it, and the only thing you have to worry about is their pistons, if you run them too lean the pistons just wont hold up... I had a vortech on the cobra I had and had no problems at all.. I'm not sure what hp tq numbers I was putting down, but I was running at around 7psi

they can hold around 450 to the wheel
i say build it up and turbo or twin turbo
or s/c route kb or procharger f1a
do you plan on stopping at 500 to the wheel?

Teksid blocks FTW!! arguably one of the best blocks ever made.

If your going with a vortech, get either a SQ if you will always stay on stock motor or T trim if your going with a built motor in the future. The 600b is too small for your application... you will be able to make more power with the SQ.

Its not the block, its the internals (pistons/rod/crank) that will break first.
