The exhaust is different, depending on your intake the fuel rails are different. Most if it is plug and play.

use 4.6 exhaust manifolds or shortys, you have to plug or cap off the return line on the 5.4 fuel rail, i used the 4.6 mounts...you have to fab the power steering resevoir, extend some plugs like the TPS and IAC sensors just to name a few

Well the fuel is going to differ in years. The 96-98 use a returnable fuel system so you don't need to plug anything.

Some 4.6 use 8 bolt flywheels. I'm not positive but I think most/all 5.4 use a 8 bolt crank. I know mine did. With the power steer resevoir, the timing cover won't have a place to bolt on your coil pack and power steering reservoir. So you'll have to do something about that. I am switching to COP and making a bracket for the resiviour.

8 bolt crank on the 5.4 and yes some of the earlier 4.6's had 8 bolt cranks...up until mid 01 i believe and you will have to cut the bracket and make new holes depending on the year and unless you can get adapter plates you wont be able to use the P51 5.4 intake is about 1-1 1/2 inch wider than 4.6 due to deck height
