Paranoid (I guess)
So I got my first kill yesterday (mod. Mazda 6 S w/v6) and before we raced i let my car warm up for about 5 min and then we drove about two miles to the light. I've only had the car about 3 weeks and i guess i am just worried that i am going to break the car. I kept wondering after the race if i should have let the car warm up longer or should i have let it run that high into the RPMs (about 4K). I know this isn't a tech question but does anyone or did anyone feel this way or am i just being way too protective ofmy car?

youll be alright bud, 4000 rpms is a low shift for a 4.6... Im sure we are all a little paranoid at times and yeah sometimes i do something in my car that i wonder if i should have done. For example, everytime i spray my car... well that could have blew the manifold apart or shot a rod through the block... but.. it didnt. Plus i realize that the spray was worth it
Thats plenty of time to let it warm up, hell at least you let it warm up.. most people dont even do that, they will just crank the car in the morning and hit it. Ive seen it millions of times.

Yeah, i shift around 5300 rpms when racing. If you dusted a mazda 6 v6 shifting at 4000 rpms, that other guy couldn't drive. those 6's are kinda fast for what they are. I've been in a fast one anyway.

Ummm, anyone remember when I hit 7000+ a few weeks back? I'm still running strong and only have an exhaust leak to show for it. Compression test showed, I'm still good and even. 4 grand? as Balky says "Haha... you slay me! Don't be rediculous!"
