Default NPI or PI heads?

Im still trying to find out what I have installed on my engine, recently I raced mitsubishi WRX and smoked it bad, yesterday I raced Porshe Boxter and smoked it too. I always thought that I have a stock engine exept the fact that someone installed bullitt intake on it for some reason and after couple street races I figured that something has been done to an engine.

Year make and model would be helpful.

FYI there is no such thing as a mitsubishi WRX, there's a Subaru WRX.

you have either a 01-04 Romeo PI Motor w/ a Bullitt intake or a 96-98 NPI Block w/ a PI Swap using a Bullitt Intake rather than a stock PI Intake.

those bullitt intakes look soo close to a SVO intake.

my best bet would be that you have an SN95 w/ a full pi swap and a bullitt intake :] very nice btw.
so thats a nice find and your looking at over 260hp depending on your other supporting mods. (since you still have two coil packs from the 96-98 while the newer PI motors had Individual Coil Packs)

and just so you know WRX's are not as fast as you think neither is the Porsche Boxster

2003 Subaru WRX:
Curb Weight: 3075 lbs.
Horsepower: 227 @ 6000 rpm
Torque:
217 @ 4000 rpm

2002 Porsche Boxster:
Curb Weight:
2811 lbs.
Horsepower: 217 hp @ 6,000RPM
Torque: 181tq @4,500RPM
while the Boxster S has 250hp @ 6,250RPM & 225tq @4,500RPM (which not alot of people tend to buy since the females like 'em more)

Jeed, he can also have just a Bullitt Intake adaptored onto NPI heads.

What octane gas do you use?

Personally, I think the easiest way to figure out once and for sure is to get it dyno'd and see what it comes up.

Either way, I sure wish I had popped MY hood in my SN95 to find a bullitt intake [&:]

looking at the valve covers.... you have a windsor style valve cover or your car is a npi.... the pi's are on the otherside for the most part i thought.

NPI Valvecovers can be reused on 01+ PI heads, because they have the same 11 bolt pattern. So if he did the swap with those heads, he could've used his NPI valvecovers.

I can never remember which is windsor and which is romeo.

99-01 were different years from 96-98 and 02-04. 96-98 and 02-04 will mate up.

Damn sry, Subaru, not mitsu. Yeah it is 1998 mustang gt.
I was thinking to upgrade to PI heads but I dont want to buy them if I already have em. So only way to find out is to go to some shop and let them check it out?. Also Ive heard that you suppose to use different intake manifold with a PI heads. Maybe this is a way to find out if I have them damn "heads"?
PS Also I use regular octane gas(87).

You can pop off your valve covers. On the inside between Valves, if it is PI heads PI will be stamped.
