well if your speedo is running high then naturally your odomete would be too. figure if you are driving at 80mph for 1 hr that would be 80 miles tacked onto the odometer. but say with the 4.10s that 80 reads 100mph and you drive that same amount of time that you will rack in an additional 20 miles onto the odometer. BUT the place that i went adjusted my speedo for me, all it is a little piece that runs from your tranny to i think the odometer and they just replaced that with one that was calibrated for 3.73s and my mphs were normal again

99+ cars do not have speedo gears. u will have to get a speed cal or a tunner

You can order the recalibrators cheap here

2001 and Up
99-00

Or you can use the "code number" from the links above and call your local Ford dealer and get them there (the code numbers are Ford part numbers)

the 96-98s have a speedo cal at the transmission like i said previously-all you have to do is switch out the stock one for one that is calibrated to your needs

I'm putting in 4.10s soon and I figured I'd just buy a diablosport tuner that can do the same thing for me and give me some more hp at the same time. Just a thought...

I bought my gears a couple weeks ago and now I'm just gonna save up for the tuner. Oh and i forgot to mention that I don't have to pay for install. I've got an uncle doing it for me

wow, that saves a chunk of change. Thanks for all the replys, i think i'm just gonna save up for a tuner or look for a used chip somewhere. the speedcal just seems like a waste of money since it's like spending $99 when you could be that much closer to a tuner. Anyway i'll let you know how it all goes down
