Default MAF cleaning?

I've got a 99gt, running 93with a 93 tune, and various other mods.... i have a problem from time to time with the car idleing around 400-500 rpms, and it sorta shakes... but when i push on the gas, the car acts studdery and jumpy as well as a loss of power until 1500rpms or so, then its rather normal all the way up, what can i do to fix this problem.... I have read that i might need to clean the maf but, i was curious to what others thought before i got into all that....

Weird huh? eventually it will stop and act normal... typically does this when its first cranked up

Well i have long tube headers/o/r h pipe, magnaflow mufflers, king cobra clutch, short throw, cold air intake, 75mm throttle body+matching plen, and the tuner, i got the car and did all this in a like a month, so i didnt drive it but i know it wasnt doing it before i started modding..... however i believe it always idled alittle funny, and my gas milage is going to hell :/ i actually dont think the tune is right..or frrom what i've been reading around, and it is a possible mass air flow sensor cleaning... Any ideas?

Just give it a spray with electrical contact cleaner. Not a big deal. Let it sit out and dry for a while before you start it up again though.

the stock TB says do not clean because their is a special layer of film in their to prevent carbon build up but what ever, do what you want, its your car.

What does the stock tb *throttle body?* have to do with the maf? i'm not knocking what your saying, just trying to understand... i've replaced the stock tb with an aftermarket one...

What brand cold air do you have? My BBK had sand from the casting stuck in the IAC section. To clean your MAF just take it out and spray it with MAF cleaner.Have you done a tune up reccently?
