Default recalibrating after 4.10s

Ok i have a 98 gt that im putting 4.10s in and I was told that I CANT recalibrate the gears from a tuner because it was a 98 and that I would have to get a speed calibrator. But it is 100$ on americanmuscle.com isnt there a cheaper way to recalibrate the speedometer with a 23 tooth speedo or something and if so where can i get one at?

like he said, there are cheaper ones, just look around. it will run fine before you recalibrate it, just your speedo will read around 10 too fast on the highway. It will look faster lol Ran mine on an auto for a week before i got it changed, did not have any issues

problem is if you keep the car for a long time with them in and then wanna sell it, it'll look like you have more miles than you really do which sucks. also you won't be able to tell gas mileage like i'm trying to do

so wait let me get this straight your saying if you get your speedometer recalibrated then your odmeter will be messed up and will not show you like an actual mile? ex: say if u drive 0.7 miles your odmeter might say that you have went 1.0 miles?

you don't use a tuner or calibrator for that year. You need the mechanical gear to adjust it.

yea but if you adjust the speedometer, weather your using a tuner or change out the gears, the computer should adjust it for the odometer. If you don't recalibrate it or change the gears, then yes it will be off on your odometer.

i also have the same problem and that effects the gas milage too if you reset to zero and then it says you ran 123miles when you really ran like 100 miles does that make sense lol....my gas gauge will not go pass the half mark when i fill up ?
