Default Swap to V6?

How hard would it be to swap a cobra engine and trans to a 6 cylinder mustang what modification would it need or will everything fit accordingly? I had a 99 cobra but got in an accident and now i dont have the money to buy a new one so i was thinking just put everything from my cobra to a 6 cylinder since itis cheaper or i might just have to buy a high mileage GT and put everything there i think that would be alot easier...any suggestion please feel free to post thanks!!!

well i think the GT would be a better starting point simply because the drive train and suspensionis better than the sixer, unless you have a hookup for replacing the parts. However, you have the stuff ingood shape from yourcobra, i would go for the six and put everything from your snake into it.

If you have the complete cobra car, and the engine/trans/harness etc etc is good it would be super easy. Everything should bolt right up, its the exact same car once you remove the suspension/brakes/engine/transmission etc (aka all the bolt holes etc bolt right up).

You'll have to switch the the Kmember, instrument cluster, ecu, PATS, rearend, suspension, wiring harness, and a few other small things to drop it into a V6. I would just buy a GT for cheap and swap the engine and sell everything else.

Is the front bumper on the cobra still in good shape?I want one.

I don't know why everyone says to change out the K-member when swapping from a V6 to a V8. The k member for the V6 and V8 are virtually the same. I just had to change my springs and sway bar on the V6 k member to handle the increased weight from the 4.6.

On the other hand, if you are dropping the cobra engine from the bottom and there is nothing wrong with the front end of your cobra, then swap the K member into the V6 from the cobra. It would be a lot less workdue to the bigger brakes, sway bar already being on the cobra k member.
