Default Going Lean at WOT

So I've been gone for a while from the forums. Work full time and school full time = no time to browse and post. But I need a little help. I've been running a Vortech V2-SQ on my car for about a year now. Everything's been all good. the car has been running healthy, even in the Florida weather. Lately, however, when I go WOT in 2nd, 3rd, 4th gear...the car doesn't seem to get any power. It just kinda falls flat on its face. The Wideband gauge shows that the car is leaning out. It goes from around 11ish or so up to 17 or just all dashes "--". 1st gear seems fine, probably because it flies by so quickly lol.

Anyways...any ideas of what this could be? I thought maybe a timing problem? Injector problem? I need to get to my tuner to get her on the dyno and see what's up, but I haven't had time for the same reason I haven't been able to get on the forums lol. Hoping for a little help from you guys...at least an idea of maybe what to expect and how much it'll cost to get the problem fixed. Thanks in advance for any input/help you can provide.

do you have a fuel pressure gauge? you should first find out what kind of pressure you're getting at wot and then go from there

Just got through addressing this. Assuming your MAF has enough capacity (mine didn't) then you need to identify the MAF counts ranges that are not getting enough fuel and adjust them up with a good dynotune. He will also check/set your spark at the higher end also since you are s/c'd you don't want to preignite. I just finished rebuilding after blowing up for going lean, so be careful about sticking your foot in it. It's real expensive. Good luck.

I agree with above. Get your fuel pressure checked asap and keep your foot out of it!

thanks for all the input so far. i dont have a fuel pressure gauge. i have vacuum/boost and wideband air/fuel. i think i may be able to get some time next week to go up to the dyno and have her checked out, so theyll be able to check out fuel pressure and all that good stuff.

wwmost, i currently have an SVT Focus pump...so unless it went bad...its definitely capable of delivering the fuel required.

looks like ill just go easy on her til i get a diagnosis done.

I'd be curious if the injectors are big enough then. That's one thing I'm not good with though, so I don't know what you have now and what it's capable of. How about the fuel filter, ever replaced that? Then again, the tune just may be screwed up. There's a bunch of things you could check for. You're probably just best waiting to see what the tuner can tell you. They should be able to tell you exactly what to look for.

the injectors are definitely big enough, FRPP 42lb. the fuel filter has been changed...i forget when...but it wasnt too horribly long ago. i hope its not the tune, cuz then i want to go to a different tuner!

i wouldnt think he would mess up the tune though, i went to this guy because hes reputable and has done some impressive work on other cars. the place...HP Performance...is the same place that tuned the TT Ford GT making over 1000 whp.
