Default engine pull

next week im going to be pulling my engine because i either spun a bearing or something else because there is a loud knocking from the bottom of the engine. the tranny is already out along with the exhaust. should i pull the engine out or drop it with the k member? its down at my auto tech school right now so i have access to a lift or cherry picker if i were to do it either way. does anyone know which way is easier?

I just finished a big rebuild of my 2000 GT. I was told that I should drop it out the bottom with the K frame and didn't believe it. Now I believe it! Dropping the K frame only involves 8 bolts and some hookups. I put it back in through the bottom and it was much better. You either need a lift or some floor jacks and a bunch of cement blocks (the way I did it). But then, I have long tube headers and that makes a big difference. Good luck.

If you dont have long tubes on it then I would pull it from the top. That how I have done my last three. The last one I had to drop the K when I was putting it in because I have long tubes

I did mine through the top with a hoist. I put it back in, motor and trans with longtubes all as one piece. Didn't even take the hood off.
